Sailing, Walking and Fishing in the Heart of Solihull
Olton Mere Sailing Club offers sailing in the heart of Solihull. . The Mere is located alongside the Warwick Road in Olton - down the drive opposite the BP garage by the metal railway bridge.
Sailing on the Mere can be enjoyed throughout the week. Racing takes place on Sunday and in the summer on a Wednesday evenings.
Upgrading the Clubhouse
In 2008 we are undertaking some major improvements to our clubhouse. The aim is to provide better facilities for both sailing users and for those who come to relax and socialise. The club has already got considerable funds towards this programme but is also keen for members to consider gift aid donations so that we can get on with the project.
A Preserved Habitat
Olton Mere has provided a protected natural haven for wildlife and plants for over two centuries. There is a category of membership specifically for those who wish to only have access to the Mere grounds and enjoy the natural environment by walking round the Mere.
Olton Mere Club Bar & Social Events
The bar is a natural meeting place after the various activities that the Mere has on offer. The bar is open on Wednesday evening, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Social events are also organised throughout the year.
Joining is Easy ......
There are different categories of membership from an access permit for walking to full membership including use of the water and clubhouse and participation in the many social events on offer.
