Welcome to Olton Mere Sailing Club
Olton Mere Sailing Club offers sailing, walking and fishing in the heart of Solihull. Olton Mere has provided a protected natural haven for wildlife and plants for over two centuries. There is a category of membership specifically for those who wish to only have access to the Mere grounds and enjoy the natural environment by walking round the Mere. The new bar is a natural meeting place after the various activities that the Mere has on offer. Social events are also organised throughout the year. There are different categories of membership from an access permit for walking to full membership including use of the water and clubhouse and participation in the many social events on offer. The club is run by the members and everyone is welcome to apply to join.
Olton Mere is a 32 acre water surrounded by 5 acres of beautiful woodland and many of our members are not sailors. Access members subscribe to make the most of the beautiful scenery at the Mere. The path around the mere takes between 20 and 40 minutes to walk and many members use the club for jogging and dog walking. At the south end of the mere, there are many species of birds, including herons and sometimes even kingfishers.
